Bayswater West Primary School students will soon benefit from school building improvements, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Bayswater Jackson Taylor and Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Tim Richardson, announced that Bayswater West Primary School will receive $97,100 in additional funding to ensure the construction of new toilets, rather than a refurbishment of existing toilets on site.

This project is part of a $10 million commitment by the Andrews Labor Government to improve classrooms and upgrade facilities to strengthen community pride in schools – under the 2019-20 State Budget School Pride and Sports Fund.

Research shows that students feel more positive and connected to their school, and achieve better education outcomes when school facilities are well maintained and pleasant environments to learn in.

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State, investing $5.6 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades and support over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

Making Victoria the Education State will ensure every child can access a great local school to get a great start in life, and every community has access to a great school to be proud of.

“I was very aware of the need for this project – dare I say, they were ‘busting’ for it!”

“This upgrade is about more than giving Bayswater West Primary students the school facilities they deserve – it is about helping build community pride in a great local school.”
